- Rascal. Stubborn. Whimsical. Difficult. These are some of the literal translations of the word Arneis. Its delicate skin makes it one of the most recalcitrant varieties in Piedmont. Native to Roero, this grape was on the brink of near-extinction by the 1970s. Thanks to houses such as Vietti and the legendary Bruno Giacosa, it is still here for your enjoyment. Salute!
