  • EGGNOG 6 egg yolks 1/2 cup sugar 1 quart milk 2 cups heavy cream 6 ounces chilled bourbon 6 ounces chilled dark rum 6 egg whites an additional 1/4 cup sugar freshly grated nutmeg In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks, gradually adding the 1/2 cup of sugar as you beat. When the yolks are light in color and the sugar has been thoroughly dissolved, add the milk, cream, bourbon, and rum, and mix. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Fold the beaten whites into the egg-yolk mixture, continuing to gently fold until the texture is even throughout.
