  • In the Jura, Melon-Rouge-Queue is Chardonnay's less fortunate cousin. Its grapes are small, its stems are red and it's prone to disease. Most growers ignored it until it nearly disappeared. Philippe and Annie Bornard's Melon is grown without any chemical intervention, fermented in fiberglass and matured in demi-muids. They hand-dip each wax-topped bottle. Sly foxes.
