The oft-quoted remark by The Wine Spectator's Matt Kramer, "This producer's Chassagnes are the wines against which the others are judged" was made in the 1980's while Andre Ramonet was still at the helm. Thankfully, even though the reins have been fully passed to his sons, Noel and winemaker, Jean-Claude decades ago, little has changed. The wines are still iconic and prototypical.
