  • Situated on a limestone plateau, Clos Fourtet was founded in the middles ages as Fort Camfourtet and did not exist as a winery until the 1800's. It was owned by the de Carle family and then the Rulleaus, who constructed the chateau in the mid-19th century. Traded from the Ginestet family to the Lurtons and back again, it is now with the Cuveliers. A 2nd wine, Closerie is culled from their younger vines.
